Bio
Before starting in the GTRI Nanotechnology Lab, Kara worked at Clemson University’s Center for Optical Materials Science and Engineering Technologies (COMSET). Currently, she is working on carbon nanotubes for application in Li-on batteries. In addition to scientific research, Kara has a strong interest in teaching science. Prior to joining Prof. Fuller’s group, she earned a Master of Education which included a semester of student teaching within a high school physics classroom. In the interim between completing student teaching and joining the Fuller group, she worked in the education outreach program at the Carnegie Science Center (Pittsburgh, PA). In the future, she aspires to work in academia so she may continue her interests in science and in science education.
